Barcelona is a city where music and party are always present. In fact, they have a large cultural tradition that includes neighbourhood parties full of fire, colours, delicious gastronomy and traditional music. Some examples of these wonderful parties you can’t miss are Festes de La Mercé, Festes de Gràcia or Festes de Sants.

But today we are not talking about these local parties. Instead, we will present other kind of events where music and party in Barcelona are the main protagonist: music summer festivals!

Primavera Sound

This festival gathers together some of the best indie artists of the world. It is celebrated from May 28th to June 3rd and people from all around the world come to Barcelona to enjoy concerts of their favorite groups.

This year, some big names such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The National, Arctic Monkeys, Björk or Migos will be present in Primavera Sound’s stages.

This way, you can stay in a design studio located just next to Sagrada Familia. You will be able to visit one of the most iconic temples of the world, and then take the metro to go to one of the best music festivals of Europe.

Cruïlla

This summer festival is celebrated from July 12th to July 14th. In Cruïlla Festival, we will find a mix of famous international and Spanish artists.

If you like every kind of music, either Reggae, Hip-Hop, Rock, Indie or Pop; this is your festival.

There is not a predominant style of music, but a wide range of them is covered thanks to the presence of different artists such as Jack White, Justice, Izal, Bomba Estéreo, Prophets of Rage or Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley.

Sónar

Have you ever heard about Sónar? It is one of the most known festivals of electronic and experimental music around the world. It is celebrated from June 14th to June 16th and if you like non-commercial electronic music, this is your time and place to be!

This festival is famous for being innovative, creative and original. In fact, this year they are celebrating its 25th anniversary, so they decided to contact with aliens. This way, they will send during the festival music to Luyten b, which is an exoplanet. Luyten b is one of the most Earth-like planets ever found and its considered as a potentially habitable exoplanet.
