Combining tourism and sports in Barcelona

Barcelona is a great destination for all kind of holidays. No matter if you are a party lover, you rather enjoy relaxing holidays, culture and history, travelling with kids or even playing sports, Barcelona will definitely meet your needs as a tourist.

Today we are going to talk about how to combine tourism and sports when visiting Barcelona. Here you have some touristic spots in the city ideal for enjoying sports.

Parc Ciutadella

If you choose to rent a holiday apartment in Born you will be quite happy to realize how close you are to one of the most dynamic parks in the city, Ciutadella. This park is located really close to the city center and it’s a hotspot for many people who meet here to play music, run, walk on the slackline, do yoga, play ping-pong or even to dance swing.

Moreover, this park gathers some important sights of the city such as the Zoo, the parliament of Catalunya or the zoo. It also has a pond in the middle of the park where you will be able to rent a small boat and have a romantic ride in it.

Camp Nou

This is obviously a must for any football lover in Barcelona. The Camp Nou is the stadium of one of the most known football teams around the world and it’s able to host over 99.000 viewers. Even if you won’t be able to play football here, this huge and emblematic stadium is something you should not miss. You can go and attend a match or you can also visit the stadium even if there is not a match going on.

Moreover, if you want to discover everything about Football Club Barcelona you can enter the most visited museum in Spain: The Camp Nou Experience, with over half a million annual visitors. It’s called “experience” because that’s really what it is, far from being a simple exhibition of trophies it offers a widely interactive experience to the visitors. On one hand, because thanks to technology you can wander around the history of this famous club and on the other, because you can actually enter presidential box, walk through the tunnel connecting the field and the locker rooms, visit the locker rooms… You will definitely feel as if you were a football player.

The beach of Barcelona is another great place to practice some sport. If you have in mind a good workout table and you need help of an abdominal bench, push bars, fixed bars to work the muscles of the arms or jumps to improve agility and balance … visit the outdoor urban gym located in the breakwater on the beach of Barceloneta. It is one of the most popular outdoor sports circuits in the city.

Paseo de las Aguas

After the Bunkers del Carmel, it is one of the best viewpoints of Barcelona. I’d say it’s even better than the bunkers due to the tranquility and peace you can breather here. This walk lasts up to 9 kilometers of sand at the foot of the Collserola Tower, with views of the city, silence and people doing sport. Most of them runners. You can take your yoga mat with you and enjoy the views whilst you stretch your body.

As you see Barcelona offers a wide range of activities for sport lovers, just choose your spot and go enjoy it!
